For all you wine enthusiasts out there, get ready for an event created with you in mind. This September, the Garrett County Fairgrounds will be featuring one of the best festivals in the area. When you come to stay with us at Lake Pointe Inn, you will have the opportunity to participate in all the weekend events at Deep Creek Lake Art & Wine Festival. Don’t know what the Deep Creek Lake Art & Wine Festival is? Well, don’t worry! We are here to tell you about this fantastic event and all that it has to offer visitors to the area. Here is what you need to know about the Deep Creek Lake Art & Wine Festival!
The first thing you need to know is when the Festival takes place. The weekend long event starts off with a bang with Friday night wine paring dinners. Local participating restaurants will feature special dinner menus with wine paring dinners and special wine tastings for the first evening. Restaurants include Savage River Lodge, Cornish Manor, Dutch’s at Silver Tree, Uno Chicago Grill, Pine Lodge Steakhouse, Deer Park Inn, Santa Fe Grille, Brenda’s Pizzeria, Black Bear Tavern, Smiley’s Sports Bar & Grill, and Four Seasons; they will pair pre-selected wines with specially prepared dinner courses, making your evening a more memorable experience.
On Saturday, the festivities will continue from noon till 6 P.M. The day will be filled with over thirty professional artists and craftsmen showcasing their thought provoking works. Also, during the day taste and purchase homemade products from local food artisans including Firefly Farms, DeBerry Farms, and Deep Creek Sweets.
Guests will also have the opportunity to partake in a wine tasting. National distributors and Maryland wineries will be offering samplings of a variety of over 200 wines to satisfy even the most discriminating tastes. The wine tasting will take place in the Premium Wine Tasting Area. Guests can purchase 10 tasting tickets for 20$. While sipping on some of the finest wine in the area, you will enjoy live entertainment and appetizers.
After sampling all of the divine wines offered, head on over to the Wine Shop. Guests may purchase the wines at the festival’s retail store, which is open until 7 P.M. You will find the perfect gift for a friend or yourself! A variety of food will also be offered throughout the day. Delicious sandwiches, cheeses, creamy ice cream, crisp salads and more will be available for sale throughout the day from Archie’s, Lakeside Creamery, Jearbryo’s, Knights of Columbus, and Copper Kettle Popcorn Factory.
Tickets for the Deep Creek Art & Wine Festival are $25 for adults, 21 and over, and include entry fee, wine tastings and a commemorative wine glass. For a more in-depth experience, purchase tickets for the VIP Wine Tasting Room. Guests will taste a selection of premium wines chosen by our wineries, will enjoy live entertainment, and will munch on delicious food. Only $20 per person includes 10 wine tasting tickets, appetizers and music. You can purchase your tickets in the tasting room the day of!
